I went to see the movie "Taking Woodstock" last week. It is a movie about the people and town that took on the biggest concert the world has ever seen. The Woodstock festival took place in the summer of 1969. I had just graduated from high school Ahhhhhhh..... to be able to travel back to that time. It was an amazing time of dayglo neon painted vans that were like little houses on wheels. Some of those vehicles were complete with curtains, beds, and even plants in hand tied macrame hangers. Those were the days when your wide belt and your bell bottoms were your most prized possessions. That was because all of your other clothes were so god awful plain. Cool clothing did not really come into being for a few years yet. But it was a time of great music and a whole generation came together and said , "Hell, no", to the Viet Nam war. The Baby Boomers found their voice, and screamed it out loud. In 1969, we still had Morrison, Joplin, and Hendrix. The air waves were electrified, and The Beatles came out with "Abbey Road". And did I mention that the first astronaut walked on the moon? There will never be another year to match 1969.
